After attending college, Mr. Harris began his working career with the Guaranty Bank and Trust Company as a Night Proof Clerk. From Night Proof Clerk, Mr. Harris’ career continued an upward movement as he held the positions of Accounts Adjuster, Personal Banker, Loan Officer and Assistant Branch Manager. At the outset of state wide banking regulation changes, Guaranty Bank was merged with Hibernia Bank and Mr. Harris served in the capacity of Assistant Branch Manager and Loan Officer. Mr. Harris worked in the banking industry for over four years until he started his own company.

In 1986 Mr. Harris founded Leebo’s Stores, Inc., a company that owns, operates and manages convenience petroleum stores with an emphasis on merchandise sales and quick service restaurants. The first Leebo’s store was erected in Hineston, LA. By the end of 1987 a chain of eight stores developed. In the mid ninety’s, Mr. Harris determined that the chain should grow in outlying high traffic areas and only operate locations that were capable of high volume sales. This prompted the sale of smaller stores and the construction of several new large modern facilities on major highways. Mr. Harris has been CEO and President of the company since its inception. Currently, Leebo’s Stores, Inc. has ten locations with over one hundred employees.

Mr. Harris purchased Woodside Pecan Farm in 2003. The farm has over eight thousand seven hundred pecan trees with twenty-nine producing varieties. Along with the trees, the farm manages over two hundred head of cattle. Mr. Harris is CEO and President of Superior Farm Properties and Woodside Pecan and Cattle Farms, LLC, which controls the Woodside Farm and other properties. Currently there are three employees working at Woodside Cattle and Pecan Farm.

Mr. Harris has been and still is active in several professional, civic and personal organizations. In the past, Mr. Harris was a board member for the Alexandria Jaycees and served as the Chairman of the Board and President of the organization. Currently, serves as Chairman of the England Economic Development District (England Airpark Authority), serves on the Central Louisiana Volunteers of America Advisory Board. He has served on North Louisiana Volunteers of America Board of Directors, Cenla Advantage Partnership (CAP) board, Alexandria Business Incubator board and The Alexandria Mardi Gras Association Board. Mr. Harris was a founder of the Krewe of Mercury men’s organization and served as president and board member.

From 1979 to 1983, Mr. Harris attended Northwestern State University and Louisiana College pursuing degrees in piano performance and business administration. Mr. Harris is a graduate of the 1984 Louisiana Banking School of the South hosted by University of Southeastern Louisiana. In 2004 he completed the requirements and graduated from the Citizens for a Better Louisiana’s Leadership Louisiana program. In 2007 Mr. Harris attained the Louisiana Master Farmer and Master Cattleman certification from Louisiana State University Ag Center. In 1993, Mr. Harris qualified and was accepted as a member of the American MENSA organization.

In 2011, Mr. Harris was elected to the represent District 25 in the Louisiana House of Representatives.

Lance Harris Properties – business entity that owns and manages several commercial properties in Central Louisiana. Properties are located in Rapides and Vernon parishes.

Woodside Cattle and Pecan Farms, LLC – Farm properties that manage producing pecan trees, pecan tree nursery, pecan processing plant and cattle.

Harris-Tudor Enterprises, LLC – a limited liability corporation that operates Rooster’s Town and Country retail store. Rooster’s Town and Country sells farm supplies, animal health products, gifts, wildlife accessories, and some hardware products. Rooster’s employs three full time employees.
